The Year of the Wood Snake

The Chinese New Year celebrations which took place at the Château d'Aubiry in Céret from Wednesday January 29, teach us that this year 2025 is placed under the sign of the WOODEN SNAKE which promises regeneration and growth, but more precisely still flexibility and long-term strategies.

Indeed, the Wood Snake calls for "WISDOM", reflection and the search for peaceful solutions. For those born in Wood Snake they are also granted as qualities more discernment, maturity and understanding than the other signs of the Chinese zodiac. However, it also emphasizes ambition, effort and ingenuity, cunning (sometimes going as far as manipulation) and skill in the service of personal projects.

On both a collective and individual level, the Snake is known for its TRANSFORMATIVE side and therefore announces great upheavals. It should come to shake up our certainties and push us out of our comfort zone. It is therefore the right time to initiate changes that have been hoped for for a long time, such as new projects, life changes, reconversions, travels... Everything will be possible then for certain signs called "friends of the snake" (like those born under the Monkey or the Dog for example) provided that they are also ready to question themselves and connect to themselves, to their own needs and desires as well as to their deepest being.

Because indisputably the year 2025 will be a year placed under the sign of SPIRITUALITY since the Serpent is known to be a fluid animal that slips between 2 worlds, that of the Visible and the Invisible, of the Material and the Spiritual. In short, a year of moulting or "mutation a priori for many placed under the sign of inner and outer trans-formation!

Let yourself be transported by the magic of the " Splendors of China ", a magical Chinese show with giant or miniature lanterns installed in the large park of the magnificent Château d'Aubiry in CERET for 4 months (from November 15, 2024 to February 16, 2025) and live an unforgettable experience through the attractions, stands, entertainment, fireworks....

"Thousands of lanterns pave a dreamlike path where each step reveals wonders: dragons, dream creatures, and benevolent figures sparkling with a thousand lights. Taste buds will awaken to the delights of Asian cuisine, while folk dances and melodies will offer a spectacle for the eyes and the soul. Young and old, lovers of Chinese stories and culture, or simply in search of amazement, the "Splendeurs de Chine" in Céret prove to be a winter getaway strewn with wonders and memories that is just waiting to be experienced."

We are therefore very proud to invite you this year to discover this brand new show in the Vallespir sector less than 15 km from our Catalan village in the natural park of one of the most beautiful monuments of the Pyrénées Orientales, the Château d'Aubiry in eclectic Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau style, dating from the beginning of the 20th century and currently being renovated, in particular with old greenhouses built by Gustave Eiffel.
